Who are we

India’s cancer care ecosystem is at its infancy,  with rapidly increasing cases, inequitable access to care, late detection, delay in diagnosis, treatment and follow up care. Most of the citizens by the time they arrive at a cancer care centre they are already in stage 3 or 4.

CCFI ( Cancer Control Foundation of India ) is a NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION established to serve the underserved by providing early detection programmes. We are committed to create cancer  awareness, early detection, cure, relief and rehabilitation of cancer patients in Kerala & Tamil Nadu. 

CCFI has become a collective mission of similarly thinking people who wanted to join their hands together for the betterment of fellow human beings by providing awareness, prevention and early detection of curable cancers and navigation of suspected cancers to appropriate centres for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment followed by follow-up care and supportive care. 

 Dr R Sankaranaryanan is the Chief Patron of CCFI and he is one among the top 2% Scientists in the world in the field of Oncology &  Carcinogenesis as assessed by the Stanford University, USA. He has worldwide experience in cancer early detection and prevention.

our Inspiration.

Rengaswamy Sankaranarayanan was the former Chief of the Cancer Screening Group, Early Detection & Prevention Section and Special Advisor on Cancer Control at the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France of the World Health Organization ( WHO- IARC) . He has a MD degree in Radiation Oncology followed by post-doctoral training in Pittsburgh USA and Cambridge UK. 

After several years of experience in clinical oncology and cancer control in India, Dr Sankaranarayanan joined the WHO _ IARC ] in 1993. He advises Governments of Tamil Nadu and Kerala in India and several Latin American, Middle-Eastern, South and East Asian and African Governments on cancer prevention, early detection, control and development of efficient, accessible and affordable cancer health services. 

He is an author in more than 300 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and his manuals on early detection of cervical cancer have been translated into several languages including Chinese, French, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai and Turkish among others. He has travelled to more than 100 countries and has provided technical support to national cancer programs and human resource development in more than 75 countries.

CCFI - Pollachi Vision & Mission

  • To conduct Continuing Medical Education on cancer prevention, early detection and control in co-ordination with Medical Colleges, Nursing Schools, health worker training establishments, professional societies and other Governmental, Inter-Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisation with similar objectives.

  • To conduct Demonstration Programmes for Comprehensive Cancer Control activities in collaboration with other organisations as stated under the above clause.

  • To provide a platform of service on cancer prevention and control on continuing basis by conducting scheduled cancer detection and prevention clinics in different locations in India.

  • To conduct translational cancer control research programmes in order to develop appropriate models on cancer health services delivery.

  • To conduct regular public awareness programmes to catalyse early detection and prevention initiative by the public at large.

  • To develop and implement appropriative evaluation programmes to monitor and evaluate the programmes.

  • To implement other appropriative health promotion and other environmental awareness activities to augment overall public health status of the population at the large.

  • To undertake appropriate advocacy measures to mobilise resources from both within India and abroad to initiate and sustain activities to fulfil the objectives of the Society.
